Sales Trader Assistant in North Plains, OR
Join the dynamic team at Jewett Cameron as a Sales / Trader Assistant and be at the forefront of the
lumber trading business. As a cross-functional role, you'll be involved in all aspects of the trading
process from sales order reconciliation to shipment coordination, and inventory auditing. If you have
3-5 years of experience in a trading environment, a strong understanding of purchasing and order flow
processes, and excellent communication skills, we want to hear from you! This role requires the ability
to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities in this Role
- Coordinate with purchasing what to buy
- Monitor shipments from mills to warehouses and provide updates
- Monitor consignment shipments from warehouses to customers
- Work with warehouses as a point of contact:
- Ensure supply inventory (UPC tags, Lumber Wrap)
- Communicate
- Keep track of inbound shipments and make sure supply chain is received
- Keep track of outbound shipments (consignment and stock orders) Make sure shipping
- Weekly retail comp market research
- Competitive analysis
- Daily sales analysis reports
- Weekly sales / inventory reports – customer portals
- Market/Industry research
- Other duties as assigned
Ideal Candidate Requirements/Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent, a Bachelor's degree is preferred
- 3-5 years of experience in a trading environment with a strong understanding of purchasing and order
- The ability to handle multiple priorities and communicate effectively
- Proficiency in ERP systems, Word, Excel, and other software programs
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
Physical Requirements – Work Environment:
- A fast-paced work environment with regular talking and hearing, repetitive hand motions
- Standing, walking, reaching, bending, carrying up to 15 pounds and focused computer screen time
- Noisy work environment with frequent interruptions
